Description:
To ensure those with neurodiversities, have equitable access to education and learning outcomes, accommodations by teachers, supervisers, examiners and fellow students are needed. By acknowledging these accommodations enable equity, it is evident that they are need to haves rather than nice to haves. However, students with neurodiversities do not always experience a level playing field and Sidsel Rasmussen, a university student with dyslexia and the owner of a startup focused on creating a more inclusive educational system in Denmark, will share the challenges she faces in teaching and learning contexts and signpost ways forward.

Donna Hurford, an educational developer at SDU Centre for Teaching and Learning. will facilitate the webinar. Following Sidsel’s experiences as a university student with neurodiversities, Donna will share practical ways for teachers and others to support and include students with neurodiversities in classes and group work and provide links to relevant resources.
