Examinations and generative artificial intelligence are prominent topics in discussions and strategies across higher education this semester, as all Danish universities have now permitted the use of these new technologies during exams.
At this SIG meeting, we will present the strategies adopted by Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen and discuss how best to support and enable lecturers and students in the disciplines working with examinations in light of generative AI. What challenges are we facing? We are keen to hear from other educational institutions—please do get in touch if you would like to present and discuss your institution’s policy and plans.
In addition to fostering mutual inspiration among Danish institutions, we will also turn our attention to how Australian universities are shaping their examination frameworks. Alongside research, there are a number of documents outlining directions and principles, as well as examples of how these can be put into practice. Two of these are presented like this by The Australien Government’s Tertiary Education Quality and Standard Agency (TESQUA):
“While Assessment reform for the age of artificial intelligence offered principles and propositions to guide institutions in developing an approach to generative artificial intelligence (gen AI) and assessment, the new resource Enacting assessment reform in a time of artificial intelligence (PDF, 585 KB) delivers examples of how these principles are being put into practice. Together these resources aim to help institutions address the risks gen AI poses to learning assurance, while also supporting students to use these tools responsibly and ethically.” See more here

Eksaminer og generativ kunstig intelligens fylder i samtaler og strategier på de videregående uddannelser i et semester, hvor alle danske universiteter har åbnet for, at eksaminer kan gennemføres med adgang til de nye teknologier. Til dette SIG-møde vil vi præsentere AU og KUs strategier på området og diskutere, hvordan rammerne for at arbejde med eksaminer i lyset af generativ kunstig intelligens kan blive så gode som muligt. Hvilke udfordringer møder vi? Vi vil meget gerne høre fra andre uddannelsesinstitutioner, så skriv endelig til Julie (jmi@adm.ku.dk), hvis du vil fremlægge og diskutere din institutions politik og plan.
Ud over at lade de danske uddannelsesinstitutioner inspirere af hinanden, vil vi også fokusere på, hvordan der formuleres rammer for eksamensområdet på australske universiteter. Her er der ud over forskning også en række dokumenter, der angiver retninger og principper, og desuden eksempler på, hvordan de kan praktiseres.
