The Research Centre for Problem-oriented Project Learning at Roskilde University invites applications for a PhD project on the development of scientific literacy among university students in natural science who study in participant-directed collaborative problem-oriented project learning settings, PPL. The PhD scholarship is funded by the Department of Science and Environment and the Department of People and Technology. The position commences November 1, 2021, or soon thereafter. The position is 3 years fixed-term.
The PhD project is an independent study under a larger project frame that seeks to develop significant new knowledge on the development of scientific literacy in PPL. Specifically, the aim of the PhD project is to enhance our understanding of the affordances and barriers for the development of scientific literacy (problem solving, critical thinking and the development of evaluative judgement etc.) among university students in natural science in PPL settings.
