Due to recent research successes in the team that have led to buy-outs of staff time, the University of Kent have an exciting 12 month, full time opportunity for a Lecturer in Higher Education. You will be an experienced colleague who can make a key contribution to teaching, personal tutoring and assessing on the Associate Fellowship Scheme and the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. Located within the Education Directorate of the University of Kent, the Centre for the Study of Higher Education fulfils two primary functions:
- To support the University in its institutional commitment to high-quality, research-led education taught by well-qualified academic staff; and
- To provide a distinctive academic home for taught and research postgraduate programmes in HE, a focus for research and scholarship on higher education, and a resource for initial and continuing academic professional development for University staff.
As Lecturer in Higher Education you will:
- Contribute to taught programmes, specifically the Associate Fellowship Scheme and the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education
- As a personal tutor, observe and offer developmental feedback to new lecturers at the University
- Contribute, as a mentor and/or assessor, to the Route to Recognition for Experienced Staff
- Support the PGCHE programme for probationers and fixed-term academic staff, leading to HEA Fellowship
- Teach Graduate Teaching Assistants, leading to HEA Associate Fellowship
