ICED 2026

The Spanish Network for University Teaching (REDU) and the University of Salamanca are delighted to announce the ICED 2026 Conference, which will take place from 24 to 26 June 2026 in Salamanca, Spain.

Under the theme “Agency and Academic Development”, the conference aims to foster interdisciplinary reflection and dialogue on the various ways in which academic development can influence learning, teaching, and institutional strategies at different levels.

Both the ICED Conference and the Pre-Conference on 23 June are open to professionals in academic development, researchers, and educators from around the world, offering an opportunity to share perspectives, present research findings, and explore innovative approaches.

The event will be held in a hybrid format and in three languages. We encourage you to watch our introductory video (available with subtitles in Spanish and French) and to consult the attached documentation, which provide detailed information on the main theme, sub-themes, and key dates (available in English, French, and Spanish).

First Keynote Speaker Confirmed
We are delighted to announce our first keynote speaker, Dr. David A. Green, who will speak on “Agency, responsibility, and values-driven educational development”. You can find his abstract and further information in the Keynotes section of our conference website. Information about the next two keynote speakers will be announced soon. Online Participation and Hybrid Setting
Having a hybrid conference is, in itself, a form of enacting agency. We are working to create a truly hybrid experience, connecting on-site and online communities in meaningful and collaborative ways.
We can confirm that online participants will be able to:

  • Attend all keynote sessions (and engage with keynote speakers afterward);
  • Present papers
  • Participate in all paper sessions, symposia, and ICED-Talks;
  • Take part in asynchronous dialogue and reflection, sharing insights and collaborating across time zones.

Doctoral Colloquium
We are happy to inform you that ICED26 will include a Doctoral Colloquium. If you have doctoral candidates working on topics connected to academic development, we warmly encourage them to submit a proposal.
Details are now available on the conference website. As this option does not appear in the submission guidelines, it is important that interested doctoral candidates read the instructions under Doctoral Colloquium and submit their proposal as a standard paper, including “Doctoral Colloquium” in the title.

Dissemination Materials
To support you in spreading the word, we have prepared a flyer and a PowerPoint presentation in English, Spanish, and French. You find them here to download. You might, for example, print copies to share at conferences and events, forward them to colleagues, or display the slides at related gatherings.

Sponsorship Opportunities
We have developed three sponsorship packages—Silver, Gold, and Platinum—for organisations interested in supporting ICED26.).
If you collaborate with companies or institutions that regularly engage in your academic development events, we would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with them.

Full details are available in our website and in this prospectus.

Thank you very much for helping us disseminate this information. We look forward to welcoming members of your community to ICED26 and to a meaningful exchange of ideas and practice.

Remember: Deadline for Submission of Contributions is 30th November.
