Call for chapter proposals: Book on science of learning in education

Deadline: May 1, 2021

Info and submission

The e-book editors of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (American Psychological Association's , Division 2) have commissioned the preparation of a book titled 'In their own words: What scholars want you to know about why and how to apply the science of learning in your academic setting'.
The editors, Catherine Overson, Christopher Hakala, Lauren Kordonowy and Victor Benassi, invite potential authors to submit proposals for chapters to appear in a section of the book titled 'Putting the Science of Learning into Practice'. From the submitted proposals, a limited number of authors will be invited to prepare a chapter for submission. The purpose of these chapters is to provide teachers and others who work to promote student learning with examples of applications of science of learning in real academic settings.

The target audience for the book will be:

  • college and university teachers in any field or discipline and at any type of institution
  • secondary school teachers
  • staff in teaching and learning centers, instructional design centers, learning assistance centers, and student support
  • other colleagues who work with students to promote students’ academic success.

After proposals have been reviewed by the book editors, authors of accepted proposals will be notified and provided with detailed instructions on how to prepare and submit their chapters.
