This seminar is designed for postgraduate/early career researchers. It aims to explain the process of academic journal peer reviewing and share insights into how it works in practice. Featuring contributions from two editors of academic higher education journals and an experienced peer-reviewer, the session will help researchers navigate this challenging terrain by setting out to answer questions on three key themes:

  • What is an academic journal and what does the publishing landscape regarding Higher Education Research look like?
  • What does the process of article submission/peer review look like in practice?
  • How can I become a peer reviewer for an academic journal?
