The event is for everyone interested in the didactic development of practical work at university level.

The SIG ’Laboratory and Field Work Learning’ invites to an online seminar with international speakers.

In this seminar, there will be a broad discussion about the learning outcomes associated with learning in laboratory work and fieldwork in university settings.

Based on a recent systematic review, Hendra Agustian and Maja Ingerslev Pedersen, University of Copenhagen, will describe generally what research tells us about outcomes of laboratory learning.

Then two international scholars – Marcy Towns, Purdue University, and Alan Marvell, University of Gloucestershire, will provide perspectives on aspects of competence development in lab work and fieldwork.

In the final panel debate, a group of experts will discuss the function and potentials of lab work and fieldwork in higher education settings in dialogue with the participants.
