Roskilde University, Centre for Research on Problem-oriented Project Learning, RUC-PPL, invites colleagues to participate in an open reading group on educational philosopher Gert Biesta’s latest book 'The rediscovery of teaching' from 2017.
Biesta argues that teachers have gone from being 'a sage on the stage' to become 'a guide on the side' or even 'a peer in the rear', which makes him want to re-discover teaching in an age of ‘learnification’.
Participants will be asked to read selected chapters that we believe will help spark an interesting discussion on the educational task and how we practice Problem-oriented Project Learning, PPL, or other inquiry-based pedagogies.
